Serving as a pastor is incredibly easy . . . when you are surrounded by a great team!
There are moments, however, when you wonder if you are facing smooth sailing or a storm.
On Sunday after church, Supermom asked if she could talk to me about VBS a couple weeks ago. Her elementary-school child had come home asking questions about heaven and hell, especially about hell. Kid kept asking questions about hell.
Supermom told Kid that we’ve done wrong things. We don’t deserve heaven. But Jesus is good enough. Jesus is perfect. Because Jesus died and rose again, he can take us to heaven.
This conversation went up and down, round and round, re-running in different versions. Then, one day, Kid disagreed with Supermom: “I know someone who is good enough to go to heaven. I know someone who doesn’t do anything wrong.” And Kid named one of his Sunday School teachers, my teenage daughter.
Either Kid is a horrible heretic, or my daughter is a faithful ambassador of Jesus. The answer is fairly obvious.
I am richly blessed with a great ministry team . . . including at home.
