Martini Christians

Too many Christians are like a James Bond martini—“shaken, not stirred.”

We talk about God rather than talk to God.

We walk around need rather than follow the steps of the Good Samaritan.

We welcome affirmations for leadership while declining the opportunity to serve.

We look in the mirror of God’s Word for comfort, not for growth.

We focus on strategic plans rather than stranded prisoners.

We prefer writing a check to righting a wrong.

Father, don’t let me quench your Holy Spirit today. I’m listening. Stir!
