Leadership Tells the Truth

I’ll never say those words again! Someone asked me about my church, and I said, “Holy Cross is a little church in Ojai.”

The moment the words crossed my tongue, I knew that I had missed the truth. My words were not unfactual, but they did not help someone to understand what God is doing here. I began to experiment with other answers:

• Holy Cross is a growing church in Ojai.
• Holy Cross is a community that excels at caring for needy people.

The way God sees my church is the way I want to talk about my church. Period.

What do people say about your organization that makes you cringe? What do you recommend instead? Have your say.
